How to be Kule

A primer for improving your social standing

I had so much fun making this video!

2 or 3 times a year, my extended family watches our favorite YouTube videos put together into one big playlist. We call it YouTube night. And because I am learning about videography, I always add a few ‘extras’ into the mix.

This video was especially fun because it was the first time I attempted to ‘trick’ the viewer by using movie magic. Yes, I know it’s rudimentary, but you gotta start somewhere. Here are some of the techniques I used:
Removing items from the bowl between each take so I didn’t ruin anything.
Loop over the video of the food color drops.
Show the passage of time by turning the lights on and off between takes.
Put red electrical tape on the baster to imitate red liquid.
Fade out/fade in.

Like I said, these were pretty simple. But hey, I came up with them on my own! It is surprisingly fun to watch a movie (and I mean a professionally created movie) and try to figure out how they were able to achieve certain results, and how you could duplicate them.
