Today I’m writing about a tool that I’ve put together called Bytz. Bytz are points that are accumulated through exploring this blog. You can get them just by logging in, viewing posts, commenting, or sharing on Facebook.
What are Bytz for? Bragging rights, obviously! By viewing your Bytz dashboard you can see your total, as well as how high you rank against everyone else who has created an account here.
Your total Bytz will determine your overall rank. You can see your current rank on your Bytz dashboard and also on any posts that you’ve commented on.
But wait, there’s more! Bragging is one thing, but actually getting to spend your useless Bytz is something else altogether! That’s why I’ve added a section for you to spend those precious Bytz that you’ve been accumulating. Just head over to the Premium Content and unload. And don’t worry about lost Bytz, your rank is determined by your total acquired Bytz, so spend away!
Oh, I guess I should mention one annoying thing with being at the mercy of WordPress. My Bytz system only works if your logged in, obviously. However, there are many web browsers that ‘save’ a web page in memory so that it loads up quickly the next time. This is called caching.
Unfortunately, if you viewed a post on this site before you were logged in, then logged in, then viewed it again, you might not get the Bytz that are owed to you for viewing a post. This is because the post you were looking at was cached and now that your logged in, your web browser is still looking at that cached version.
If you notice this happening, just press F5 to reload the page, and you should get those precious Bytz that are rightfully yours. And next time, be sure to just log in when you get here. How else will you be able to get that next rank?

Bummer. I did some site surfing before I knew to log in. I got some Bytz but seems like maybe I should have gotten some more for commenting on a post. Let’s see if this post generates anything.

Ya, I needed some way to prevent the SPAM bots from attacking my posts. So I have made it that your very first post has to be approved. Now that I\’ve approved your comments, not only did you get some lovely Bytz for those, but you can now comment freely on any other post you\’d like!
