For the entire year of 2017 (and at least the first week of 2018 as of this writing) this is the view I’ve had whenever I raise my eyes above the monitor in my office. The reason I have two pieces of cardstock and one bent piece of paper that I really should have put two push pins in, but never got around to it, is because I decided I was tired of just one goal. You see, every year Mindy and I come up with some fun and unique goal that we’re going to work on throughout the year. We’ve been doing this for about a decade or so, and as 2017 was approaching, I just couldn’t decide on yet another goal that I would have enthusiasm for 3 months, and then get bored with and feel guilty about for the remaining 9 months of the year. So I decided that 2017 was going to be my year to have lots and lots of smaller goals, that could be completed in a month or less.

I though about it for quite a while and came up with a list composed of several things I was already interested in, and several more things that I thought I could improve in my life. Finally, after narrowing it down to 25, I went to myfreebingocards.com and printed myself out that bingo card on the left I’ve been looking at for a year now.

I split the reference sheets up two ways: by number and by month. This way I could easily see what I was going to be doing for the upcoming month, as well as find what I was missing for my next bingo. Those are the other two sheets. Obviously, I thought of splitting it up by number first and had access to our cardstock supply. The final sheet wasn’t printed out for another couple of weeks, which is exactly how long it takes me to forget where we store that darn cardstock supply…

It didn’t take me too long to realize that this was going to be a pretty decent amount of work, and I was going to need some motivation. So I worked it out with Mindy and we agreed that for every bingo I got, I earned $25 into my personal free-spending account.

If you look very carefully at November’s items, you’ll see ‘Post 10 entries on the blog’. Which brings us here! Although we’re now out of 2017, and my items don’t count for the bingo card anymore, and I never did get the $25 per bingo, I’m still going to finish that goal. Because, as I believe I’ve mentioned before, I love showing off, and in 2017 I had a lot of stuff to show off!

So join me now as I post 10 more entries, one for each of the first 10 months of 2017!
